Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) to the city
The station sits under Terminal 1. Any train into Berlin needs a single ABC ticket, 5.00 EUR from January 2026, and there is no airport surcharge.
- The station is directly under Terminal 1, reached by escalator, not by shuttle.
- A single ABC ticket is what you need, and it costs 5.00 EUR from 1 January 2026, up from 4.70 EUR.
- The regular VBB fare applies with no airport surcharge. Berlin does not run a premium airport train.
- The Airport Express (FEX), the S-Bahn and regional trains all leave from that station.
- The same ticket is valid on all of them, so take whichever leaves first.
- Express buses X7 and X71 run to Rudow, on the U7 underground line.
One ticket, every train
- BER is in fare zone C, so a journey to central Berlin crosses zones A, B and C and needs an ABC ticket.
- 5.00 EUR from 1 January 2026, against 4.70 EUR before that.
- No surcharge for the airport. That is the important point: the FEX is not a premium service like the Heathrow Express or the Leonardo Express, it is an ordinary regional train with a name.

- Take whatever is on the platform. The ticket does not care which.
- A December 2025 timetable change opened the Dresden Railway to regional and long distance trains around Berlin, closing a gap that had been missing since BER opened and giving the airport the fast, stable link that was originally planned.
Practicalities
- Everything is under Terminal 1. Terminal 2 passengers walk across.
- Buy at the machines in the station or in the BVG or VBB app before boarding. There is no ticket sale on board.
