Sylt (GWT): sylt-airport.de is not the airport
The airport's site is flughafen-sylt.de. The domain most people would guess, sylt-airport.de, is a parked GoDaddy for-sale page. And the airport names no bus line at all.

- sylt-airport.de is a parked domain for sale, redirecting to GoDaddy. Do not take flight or transport information from it.
- The airport's access page lists car, taxi, hire car, bicycle and e-mobility. It names no bus line.
- Hire cars can be booked online in advance and collected at the airport.
- Bikes and e-bikes can be hired at the airport, and the airport warns they go quickly, so book online.
- The E-Mobility Center of the island tourist service is at Strandstrasse 32, Westerland, with e-cars, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-rollers; further points at the Himmelsleiter and the Westerland and Rantum campsites.
- Terminal 1 short-stay parking is about 50 m west of the terminal, on asphalt, paid at the municipal ticket machine.
- If that is full, or you are staying more than three days, use the gravel car park to the south and pay at its own machine.
- Terminal 2, the GAT at Zum Fliegerhorst 101, gives two hours free parking. Private, sightseeing and Sylt Air flights use it.
- Ask for mobility assistance at least 48 hours ahead, on 04651 92 06 12. It is free, and wheelchairs are provided.
- You can also reach Sylt by ship or train. Adler-Schiffe sails from Dagebuell, Nordstrand and Cuxhaven, and the causeway railway runs from the mainland.

- Terminal 2 is the general aviation terminal, used by private flights, sightseeing flights, flying clubs and Sylt Air.
Bikes and e-mobility
- Bicycles from simple to modern e-bikes can be hired at the airport. The airport says they go quickly and recommends booking online.
- The island tourist service runs an E-Mobility Center at Strandstrasse 32 in Westerland, with further points at the Himmelsleiter and the campsites at Westerland and Rantum.
Accessibility
- Free accompaniment on arrival and departure, and wheelchairs for the walk to and from the aircraft.
- The airport notes that few airports have check-in desks this close to the door.
- For extra help, such as driving directly to the terminal, give at least 48 hours' notice on 04651 92 06 12.
The other ways onto the island
- Adler-Schiffe sails from Dagebuell, Nordstrand and Cuxhaven.
- Trains run from the mainland across the Hindenburgdamm. Both are booked through those operators, not the airport.
