Mannheim (MHG): the tram stop is 300 metres away and goes to Heidelberg too
Neuostheim, a few minutes' walk from the terminal, is served by two Stadtbahn lines and a bus. Line 5 runs directly to the centres of both Mannheim and Heidelberg.
- The Neuostheim stop is about 300 metres from the airport, a few minutes on foot.
- Three services call there daily: Stadtbahn lines 5 (OEG) and 6, and bus line 50.
- Line 5 connects the airport directly with the city centres of both Mannheim and Heidelberg. No change.
- Line 6 runs via Mannheim city centre on to Ludwigshafen.
- Bus 50 is the fast cross-link to the northern and southern districts of Mannheim.
- Times are available around the clock from the VRN service line, 0621 1077 077.
- This is one of the best-connected small airports in Germany, precisely because it is inside the city at Neuostheim.
- By car it is reached from the Rhein-Neckar-Schnellweg: from Mannheim or Heidelberg via the A656, exit Mannheim-Neckarau; from Frankfurt, Saarbruecken or Karlsruhe via the A6 and the Mannheim interchange.
- Mannheim City Air, founded in December 2024, flies to Sylt, Usedom and Elba.
- VINI runs on-demand direct flights on regional pairs such as Mannheim to Berlin.
- This is a small city airfield, not a hub. Expect a short walk from kerb to gate and very little terminal.
Public transport is genuinely good here
