Muenster Osnabrueck Airport (FMO) to Muenster
There is no airport fare here, only the Westfalen regional tariff, where a monthly DeutschlandTicket at 63.00 EUR covers both airport buses and everything after them.
- A DeutschlandTicket costs 63.00 EUR a month and is valid on the S50 and the R51 as well as on every regional train onward. It is the one price that is fixed here.
- Single fares run on the Westfalen tariff and depend on the price level, which is why neither the airport nor the operator quotes an airport fare.
- Bus S50 is the fast line between the airport and Muenster railway station, with line R51 covering the same corridor with more stops.
- Both are run by Regionalverkehr Muensterland (RVM) as regular shuttle services, priced as ordinary regional buses.
- Take the S50 unless a stop on the R51 is where you are going.
- FlixBus also serves the airport, for longer distance journeys.
- The airport is at Greven, between Muenster and Osnabrueck, and the scheduled bus link is to Muenster.
- Osnabrueck, the airport's other namesake, is not served by the shuttle, so plan a change or a taxi for it.

- The DeutschlandTicket is the honest answer at FMO. At 63.00 EUR a month it covers the airport bus, the regional trains out of Muenster Hauptbahnhof and every local bus in Germany, and it is a fixed, published number in a place where the single fare is not.
- Single tickets follow the Westfalen tariff, which prices by distance band rather than by route, so the fare depends on where you get off. Neither the airport nor RVM publishes an airport figure.
- Buy from the driver or a machine if you are riding once.
- The DeutschlandTicket does not cover ICE or IC trains, so a long distance connection from Muenster is a separate ticket.
The two lines
- S50, the fast line, runs between the terminal and Muenster Hauptbahnhof.
- R51 is the stopping service on the same corridor.
- Both are operated by Regionalverkehr Muensterland, and both are ordinary regional buses.
What that means
- Muenster Hauptbahnhof is the connection for trains to Dortmund, Cologne and Hamburg.
- Osnabrueck is not served by the shuttle despite the name over the door.
