Where it is, and what happens at the other end
- The OFD station is at Am Flugplatz 7, 25761 Oesterdeichstrich, on the Dithmarschen coast near Buesum.
- Helgoland's airfield is on the Duene, the neighbouring islet, not on Helgoland itself. After landing there is a taxi for the roughly 900 m to the ferry jetty, then a half-hourly five minute crossing to the main island, berthing 150 m from the centre.
