Beijing Daxing (PKX) to the city
The Daxing Airport Express covers the 19 minutes to Caoqiao for CNY 35, every 8.5 to 10 minutes, and Caoqiao has check-in desks and baggage screening. An intercity train from Beijing West takes about 20 minutes.
- CNY 35 from Daxing Airport to Caoqiao, which is CNY 25 to Daxing New Town plus CNY 10 onward.
- 19 minutes, with trains every 8.5 to 10 minutes.
- Caoqiao station has check-in, baggage drop and baggage screening. You can hand over your suitcase in the city and travel to the airport with nothing.
- Caoqiao interchanges with metro line 10, which is the ring line, so it connects to most of Beijing.
- Buy through your airline and pay 80 percent. Air passengers arriving, departing or transiting can buy one discounted single per flight through the airline's official channels.
- Business class is CNY 50 for the same journey.
- There is also a mainline train. The intercity railway from Beijing West Railway Station reaches the airport in about 20 minutes.
- The last train to the city leaves at 23:00, extended to 23:30 on Sundays since November 2024.
The express
- The Daxing Airport Express has three stations: Caoqiao, Daxing New Town and Daxing Airport.
- Caoqiao to the airport takes 19 minutes, with departures every 8.5 to 10 minutes.
- CNY 35 end to end. The fare is built from two legs: CNY 25 airport to Daxing New Town and CNY 10 Daxing New Town to Caoqiao.
- Business class is CNY 50.
- Caoqiao is on metro line 10, Beijing's ring line, so it is a change rather than a terminus for most journeys.
The bit that is genuinely unusual
- You can check in at Caoqiao station. Beijing runs check-in desks, baggage registration and baggage security screening in the city centre station.
- That means the train journey happens without your suitcase, which changes the calculation on a busy line with a change onto line 10.
- Do it on the way out, not the way in. The service is for departing passengers.
The 20 percent discount nobody mentions
- Passengers arriving at, departing from or transiting through Daxing can buy a discounted single for the airport line through their airline's official channels.
- The price is 80 percent of the ordinary single, including the business class single.
- One per passenger per flight. It is bought alongside the air ticket rather than at the station, so it has to be done in advance.
The other train
- An intercity railway runs from Beijing West Railway Station to the airport in about 20 minutes. It is a mainline service rather than a metro one.
- If you are arriving in Beijing by high speed train and flying out of Daxing, this is the connection, not the express.
The buses
- Airport bus lines are CNY 40 to Beijing Railway Station, Beijing West Railway Station, Tongzhou, Fangshan and Yizhuang, and the same on the Dongzhimen and Guanyuanqiao night lines.
- The Yizhuang line was reduced from CNY 50 to CNY 40.
- The night lines matter here, because the last train leaves at 23:00 on most days.
Timing
- Last train from the airport towards the city: 23:00, and 23:30 on Sundays since 10 November 2024.
- By road, allow about 30 minutes from the south 5th Ring Road, which is where the expressway effectively begins.
