Getting from Shijiazhuang Zhengding International Airport to the city

The station is the point

• Zhengding Airport railway station sits on the Beijing to Guangzhou high speed railway, one of the busiest lines in China.
• A shuttle covers the ten minutes between the terminal and the station, running from 07:00 to 20:30 every half hour.
• Pick it up at gate 1 on the first floor of terminal 2; it drops you in the station's waiting hall.
• In the other direction it is timed to train arrivals, generally leaving about 15 minutes after one comes in.
• That makes this airport a genuine alternative to Beijing for the whole Hebei corridor, because you can be on a fast train within half an hour of landing.

The coaches

• Four lines, all 20 yuan, all running 05:00 to 21:00 every 30 minutes.
• Qiaodong district: to the Civil Aviation Hotel, about 40 minutes.
• Western district: to Jinyuan Mansion, calling at the FX Hotel and the hospitals, about 40 minutes.
• Southern district: to Shijiazhuang railway station by way of the Nanjiao bus station, about 50 minutes.
• East development area: to the Honggu International Hotel, hourly rather than half hourly, about 40 minutes.
• The 05:00 start on all four is generous, and covers most morning departures.

Taxis

• Downtown Shijiazhuang is about 100 yuan.
• The airport is roughly 30 km north of the city, past Zhengding itself.
• For the sights in the province, a taxi is priced as a day trip: Anji Bridge 200 to 250 yuan, Cangyan Mountain 500 to 600, Xibaipo 600 to 800. Those are one way figures and worth comparing against a hired car for the day.
