Quanzhou Jinjiang (JJN): the free Shishi shuttle, and the K901

The airport sits inside the Quanzhou conurbation. A free shuttle runs to Shishi, city bus K901 runs to the railway station, and downtown is minutes away.

  • The airport is inside the built up area, with downtown Quanzhou as little as ten minutes away by expressway.
  • A free shuttle runs to Shishi, with seven departures from the airport between 06:10 and 21:00.
  • City bus K901 links Quanzhou railway station, the airport and Shishi.
  • K901 runs 06:30 to 19:10 from the railway station, every 15 to 30 minutes, at 1 to 7.5 yuan.
  • City bus K604 links the city bus station with SM City by way of the airport, 06:00 to 22:05, every 8 to 15 minutes, 1 to 3 yuan.
  • Jinjiang local routes 21, 23, 28 and 30 also call at the airport.
  • A coach runs to Putian for 34 yuan, with departures roughly hourly through the day.
  • The airport plaza has its own bus station, with routes downtown, to Jinjiang railway station and to other cities in Fujian.

  • Other taxi journeys around the city run 30 to 60 yuan.

A very short transfer

  • Jinjiang airport sits inside the Quanzhou and Jinjiang conurbation. Downtown Quanzhou is as little as ten minutes away on the expressway.
  • That is unusual for a Chinese airport and it changes the arithmetic: a taxi is cheap enough that the buses are a saving rather than a necessity.

The free bus

  • A shuttle to Shishi is free. It leaves the airport at 06:10, 07:50, 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 17:30 and 21:00.
  • Shishi is the textile town east of the airport, and the service exists because of the trade rather than for tourists. Anyone can use it.

The city buses

  • K901 is the useful one: Quanzhou railway station to the airport and on to Shishi. It runs 06:30 to 19:10 from the station, every 15 to 30 minutes, on a sectional fare of 1 to 7.5 yuan, passing Heping Road, East Beiqing Road and Shiquan Road.
  • K604 runs between the city bus station and SM City by way of the airport, 06:00 to 22:05, every 8 to 15 minutes, 1 to 3 yuan. It is the most frequent thing that stops here.
  • Jinjiang local routes 21, 23, 28 and 30 also call at the airport.

Coaches and the airport bus station

  • The airport plaza has its own bus station, with routes into downtown Quanzhou, to Jinjiang railway station and to other cities in Fujian.
  • The Putian coach costs 34 yuan and runs roughly hourly from 07:30 to 18:15.

Taxis

  • Quanzhou railway station is 40 to 50 yuan.
  • Most journeys around the city fall between 30 and 60 yuan.
  • Given the distances, a taxi here is a reasonable default in a way it is not at most Chinese airports.
