Shenyang Taoxian (SHE): the metro under terminal 3, and the two coach lines
Line 2 runs from level B1 of terminal 3 into the centre. Coaches serve both railway stations for about 16 yuan. A trolley line costs 2.
- Metro line 2 has a station on level B1 of terminal 3, reached by lift from the arrivals hall.
- Line 2 runs about 06:00 to 23:00, with the last train out of the airport around 22:20.
- It runs to Middle Street in Shenhe district and on into Huanggu, with interchanges to the rest of the network.
- Airport coach to the North Railway Station by way of Shenyang TV Station, 08:30 until the last flight lands, every 40 minutes, about an hour.
- Airport coach to Shenyang Railway Station by way of the Maluwan CAAC ticket office, 07:50 to 20:00, every 40 minutes.
- Both coaches cost about 15.5 to 17 yuan and leave from exit 8 of terminal 3.
- Coming the other way both run 06:00 to 18:00 from their city ends, every 30 to 60 minutes.
- Trolley line 2 runs to the Olympic Sports Center for 2 yuan, 07:00 to 22:30 from the airport.
- Taxi to Shenyang Railway Station is about 70 to 80 yuan and 40 minutes.
- Taxi to the North Railway Station is about 70 yuan and 30 minutes, to Mukden Palace 60 to 70.
The metro
- Line 2 reaches terminal 3 and its station is on level B1, directly under the building. Take the lift down from the arrivals hall rather than looking for a walkway.
- Trains run from about 06:00 to 23:00, and the last one out of the airport goes at about 22:20. That is the number that catches people out: the line is still running elsewhere after the airport station has closed.
- Line 2 goes to Middle Street in Shenhe district, which is the centre, and continues into Huanggu. Everything else on the network is one change away.
- It is much the cheapest way in.
The coaches
- Two lines, one for each railway station.
- To the North Railway Station, which is the main high speed station, by way of the Shenyang TV Station stop. From the airport it runs from 08:30 until the last flight arrives, every 40 minutes, taking about an hour over roughly 40 km.
- To Shenyang Railway Station, calling at the Maluwan CAAC ticket office. From the airport 07:50 to 20:00, every 40 minutes.
- Both cost between 15.5 and 17 yuan depending on the source, and both leave from exit 8 of terminal 3.
- In the other direction both run 06:00 to 18:00 from their city ends, every 30 to 60 minutes, which is the constraint on an early flight.
The trolley, for 2 yuan
- Trolley line 2 runs between the airport and the Olympic Sports Center by way of Taoxian and the Airport Hotel.
- The fare is 2 yuan.
- From the airport it runs 07:00 to 22:30, and from the Olympic Sports Center 05:30 to 21:00.
- It is slow, and for an early departure the 05:30 start makes it the only public option, which is the reason to know it exists.

- Shenyang Railway Station: about 70 to 80 yuan, 40 minutes.
- North Railway Station: about 70 yuan, 30 minutes.
- Mukden Palace: 60 to 70 yuan, 25 minutes.
- Zhaoling Tomb: about 80 yuan, 30 minutes.
- Botanical Garden: 120 to 130 yuan, 45 minutes.
