Fuzhou Changle (FOC): the F1 express line, open since September 2025
The Binhai express line F1 opened on 29 September 2025 with a station at the airport, running to Fuzhou railway station. Older guides say there is no rail.

- It has a station at Changle Airport, one of 15 on the line.
- The line runs 62.4 km from Fuzhou Railway Station to Wenling, passing the airport near the far end.
- At Fuzhou Railway Station it connects with metro line 1, at Dongmen with line 4, and at Difengjiang with lines 4 and 5.
- It is an express line, not an ordinary metro line. Non stop, limited stop and all stations trains all run on it.
- The fare is by distance and does not depend on which of those you catch.
- A stored value Rongchengtong card takes 10 per cent off, and passengers aged 65 and over travel free.
- English language guides written before autumn 2025 say the airport has no rail link. They are out of date.
- Airport coaches still run from terminal 1, several city lines, leaving when full and timed to the last flight.
- A taxi to central Fuzhou is reported at about 170 yuan and 50 minutes, a ride hailing car about 130.
The line that changed the answer
- The Binhai express line, F1, opened on 29 September 2025.
- Changle Airport has its own station on it. The line runs 62.4 km from Fuzhou Railway Station out to Wenling, and the airport is the second station from the end.
- This matters because the airport is a long way from Fuzhou and until 2025 the only ways in were a coach or a very expensive taxi.
- Every English language guide written before autumn 2025 tells you there is no rail link. Several still do. Check the date on anything you read about this airport.
Using it
- At Fuzhou Railway Station the F1 meets metro line 1, which is the north to south spine of the city.
- At Dongmen it meets line 4, and at Difengjiang lines 4 and 5.
- F1 runs three grades of train: non stop, limited stop and all stations. The fare is the same whichever you get, because it is charged on the distance you travel, not the service you use.
- Discounts: the Rongchengtong stored value card and the local transport cards take 10 per cent off. Passengers of 65 and over ride free on production of ID.
The coaches, which still run
- Several airport coach lines run from terminal 1, to points across the city.
- They leave when full rather than to a fixed clock, and the service is timed around the last flight of the day.
- Line 1 is the one that runs in the early hours; the others do not.
- With F1 open the coach is now the fallback rather than the default, but it still covers the hours the railway does not.
Taxis
- Reported at about 170 yuan into the centre, taking roughly 50 minutes.
- Ride hailing is reported at about 130 yuan.
- Both are a lot next to a metro fare, which is the whole argument for the new line.
