Yinchuan Hedong (INC): the station beside the terminal, and three coach lines
Hedong Airport railway station opened on 29 December 2019 on the Yinchuan to Lanzhou high speed line. Three coach lines run at 20, 30 and 35 yuan.
- Hedong Airport railway station sits on the west side of the terminal.
- It opened on 29 December 2019, on the Yinchuan to Lanzhou high speed railway.
- Some guides still say the airport has no rail link. It has one, attached to the building.
- Airport coach line 2 runs to the Yuehai Xintiandi city terminal for 20 yuan, 45 to 50 minutes.
- Line 2 leaves the airport between 06:00 and 20:00, and the terminal between 09:30 and 21:00.
- Line 1 runs to the airport aviation hotel for 30 yuan, about 30 minutes, first departures 06:10 and 06:30.
- Line 3 runs to Wuzhong for 35 yuan, about an hour, three departures each way.
- From the city terminal, bus 45 continues to the railway station.
- Taxis start at 7 yuan for the first 3 km, then 1.4 yuan per km.
- A taxi downtown is about 60 to 80 yuan, and about 70 to the railway station.
The railway station beside the terminal
- Hedong Airport railway station is on the west side of the airport terminal, and it opened on 29 December 2019.
- It is on the Yinchuan to Lanzhou high speed railway, so it links the airport into the national network rather than just into Yinchuan.
- Not every guide has caught up. Some still describe reaching a train as a 90 minute journey by coach and city bus; that is the old answer.
The three coach lines
- Line 2 is the main one: airport to the Yuehai Xintiandi city terminal, 20 yuan, 45 to 50 minutes. From the airport it runs 06:00 to 20:00, and from the terminal 09:30 to 21:00.
- Line 1: airport to the airport aviation hotel in the west of the city, 30 yuan, about 30 minutes. First departures at 06:10 and 06:30, then half hourly from 08:30 to 21:30. Coming back it runs to meet flights.
- Line 3: airport to Wuzhong, 35 yuan, about an hour. Three departures a day each way, from the airport at 10:00, 14:30 and 17:00.
- They cost three different amounts, which is unusual, so check the fare against the line rather than assuming.
Finishing the journey
- From the Yuehai Xintiandi terminal, city bus 45 runs to the railway station.
- From the aviation hotel, bus 37 runs towards the tourist sites.
- Between the coach and one city bus the whole city is covered for about 21 yuan.
Taxis
- The meter starts at 7 yuan for the first 3 km, then 1.4 yuan per kilometre.
- Downtown works out at about 60 to 80 yuan depending on the source and the traffic.
- The railway station is about 70 yuan.
