Getting from Yichang Sanxia Airport to the city

The cheap bus does not go where you think

• Yichang opened its first bus route into the terminal on 12 June 2023. It runs between Zhibujie ferry in Xiaoting district and the second floor of T2, is 19.9 km long, takes about 70 minutes and costs 2 yuan flat, with nine stops along Jinxiao Road, Changshou Road, Ruoshui Road, Airport Road and Yingbin First Road before climbing the terminal viaduct.
• Xiaoting is an industrial district south of Yichang, not the city centre. The route exists because until 2023 the nearest bus stop to the terminal was 2.6 km away, which the city described as a pain point. It is a genuine 2 yuan link to the airport and a poor way to reach Yichang.

The coach, and the counting-backwards timetable

• The airport coach has no clock. It leaves the Three Gorges Tourist Centre, beside Wanda Plaza on the river, 150 minutes before your flight departs, and Yichang Coach Centre Station, beside Yichang East railway station, 110 minutes before. Work from your own departure time.
• It sets down on the elevated viaduct, in front of door 2 of the departures hall.
• Leaving the airport the coach is dispatched as flights land, picking up in the marked coach bay outside the arrivals hall, and calling at Yichang East (Coach Centre Station), Shanshui Huating, Wanda Plaza and Yiling Square before the long-distance bus station.
• No source this page could reach publishes a current fare. An airline reference page still describes a route to the Qingjiang Hotel at 20 yuan that predates the T2 terminal, so it is not quoted here. Ask at the counter, and have cash.

Parking, and the number the guides still print

• From 16 June 2025 the Yichang development and reform commission cut the airport car park tariff. The new scale is free within 30 minutes, then for a small or medium vehicle 4 yuan from 30 minutes to one hour, then 1.5 yuan per further half hour, capped at 30 yuan in 24 hours. Large vehicles: 8 yuan to one hour, 2 yuan per half hour after, capped at 35.
• Cruising taxis dropping off or collecting passengers pay nothing, and electric vehicles are free for the first two hours.
• The tariff this replaced, which is still the one on most third-party pages, was 8 yuan for the first hour, 5 yuan for every hour after and 40 yuan a day for a small vehicle, and 15, 10 and 50 for a large one. The commission put the average reduction at over 40 per cent and shortened the charging increment from an hour to half an hour.
• The car park is small: the commission's own priced-car-park register lists 237 spaces at Airport Road, Xiaoting district, operated by Yichang Sanxia Airport Co. Ltd.

Driving in

• The viaduct in front of the terminal is a single-direction loop and reversing on it is banned. Drop passengers and drive straight out.
• To collect someone, or to park for any length of time, use the ground-level road under the viaduct, which is the Airport Road extension, and enter the car park from there. Coming from Yingbin Avenue, turn right straight into the car park.
