Anchorage (ANC): People Mover routes 65 and 40 at the south terminal
The stop is AIRPORT SOUTH TERMINAL. Route 65 runs 06:40 to 23:11 to Dimond and Downtown, route 40 runs 06:26 to 23:39 via Spenard.

- Route 40, Spenard-Airport, runs 06:26 to 23:39, headsigned Spenard to the Airport.
- Neither starts before half past six, so an early morning flight is not a bus trip.
- Route 65 has about 180 scheduled calls and route 40 about 80, so frequency is modest.
- Dimond Transit Center is the southern hub, useful for the shopping district and connections.
- Downtown Anchorage is about 8 km from the terminal, so the ride is short by Alaskan standards.
- The Alaska Railroad has an airport depot used mainly by cruise passengers on package transfers rather than as a scheduled public service.
The two routes
- The People Mover, the Municipality of Anchorage's bus network, has exactly one stop at the airport: AIRPORT SOUTH TERMINAL.
- Route 65, Airport-JWL LK-SPNRD, runs 06:40 to 23:11, with about 180 scheduled calls. Its headsigns are to Dimond Transit Center and to Downtown.
- Route 40, Spenard-Airport, runs 06:26 to 23:39, about 80 scheduled calls, signed Spenard to the Airport.
- Spenard is the corridor between the airport and midtown, and it is where a lot of the cheaper accommodation sits.
The gap that matters
- Nothing runs before 06:26. Anchorage has a lot of early departures, particularly to the villages and to the Lower 48, and the bus does not cover them.
- Nothing runs after about 23:40 either, and Anchorage has late arrivals in summer.
- Plan a taxi for either end of the day. This is the single most useful thing to know about ANC.
Where the buses go
- Downtown is about 8 km away and is where the visitor centre, the hotels and the Alaska Railroad depot are.
- Dimond Transit Center is the southern hub, for the malls and for onward connections.
- Midtown is reached along Spenard on route 40.
The railway
- The Alaska Railroad has a depot at the airport. In practice it is used for cruise line transfers to Seward and Whittier rather than as a turn-up service.
- The main Anchorage station is downtown, and that is where the Denali and Seward trains actually start for independent travellers.
