Getting from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport to the city

The Airporter

• TANK, the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky, runs the airport bus and calls it the Airporter. The airport is in Boone County, Kentucky, despite serving Cincinnati, which is why the Kentucky agency has it.
• It is a half-hourly service, and unusually for an American airport bus it is quick: 24 minutes between 5th at Elm downtown and the CVG Airport Terminal in TANK's own timetable.

The times that matter

• Leaving the airport: departures at :12 and :42 past the hour, from 05:12 to 01:12. That covers the late bank of arrivals, which many airport buses do not.
• Leaving downtown: from 04:06 at 5th at Elm, then every 30 minutes.
• The airport is the mid-point of the route, not the end. Buses continue to the Florence Hub, so a bus signed Florence is still your bus.

The downtown stops, in order

• 5th at Elm, then 5th at Vine, Government Square Area F, 4th at Sycamore, 4th at Vine and Race at 3rd, then straight to the terminal.
• Government Square is the main downtown transfer point, so that is the stop to use if you are changing to a local bus.

Practical

• Board at the terminal's ground transportation area, where the bus is signed Airporter.
• The route runs seven days a week, on the same half-hourly pattern.
• A car covers the same 20 km in about 20 minutes with no traffic, so the bus is competitive rather than a compromise.
