Getting from Harry Reid International Airport to the city

Where the bus actually is

• Every public bus at Harry Reid leaves from Terminal 1, on Level Zero. From Baggage Claim you take the lift or the escalator down, walk out of the building, cross the pedestrian crossing and veer right to the covered RTC stop.
• If you land at Terminal 3, you are in the wrong building. Take the free inter terminal shuttle to Terminal 1 and start again from Baggage Claim.
• This catches people out constantly, because Terminal 3 handles the international arrivals and a good share of the domestic low cost flights.

The route that changed its name

• Route 109 Maryland Parkway is now the RED LINE. Service began on Sunday 23 August 2026.
• Route 108 Paradise still runs, and both stop on Level Zero at Terminal 1.
• Guidebooks and forum posts still say 109. If you are looking for a 109 on the departure board, you want the Red Line.
• Construction on the corridor is not finished. The RTC says roadway and utility work is still causing heavy traffic and service delays, so allow more time than the timetable suggests.

The two fare worlds

• Las Vegas has two fare tables and the difference is not the distance, it is the route.
• The Strip and Downtown Express services (SDX and the Deuce) are 6 dollars for 2 hours, 8 dollars for 24 hours and 20 dollars for 3 days.
• Residential routes are 2 dollars single, 3 dollars for 2 hours and 5 dollars for 24 hours.
• Children 5 and under travel free with a fare paying adult.
• The 24 hour ticket is the one to buy if you are going to move around at all on your arrival day.

Honest expectations

• The airport is close to the south end of the Strip and a very long way from the north end of it. The bus is slow because the Strip is slow.
• With two suitcases in August heat, the walk across Level Zero and the wait at an open air stop is the part to plan for.
• Taxis and ride hailing use the same terminals and are the default for most arrivals.
