Why this airport
- Burbank is much closer to Hollywood and the Valley than LAX, roughly 20 km from downtown Los Angeles.
- The terminal is small and you walk out onto the apron, which makes for fast arrivals.
- A rail connection to Union Station is a genuine advantage over LAX, where the equivalent is far more involved.
What to plan for
- Nothing here is at the kerb. Everything is about a kilometre away, so allow for the connection.
- Check the Metrolink timetable before relying on it: the lines are commuter services with gaps outside the peaks.
